Welby Garden Centre is a well respected nursery located in Mittagong, one of the lovely towns of the Southern Highlands and specialises in trees, shrubs, roses and plants ideally suited to the Southern Highlands

Having built a reputation for quality nursery and garden maintenance services, The Welby Garden Centre wanted to in turn support the community and in 1989 established “Challenge Southern Highlands” to provide vocational training and supported employment to people with disabilities. Supported employees at the centre are involved in all aspects of nursery work. Jobs are carried out in small groups under the supervision of a Training Supervisor.

Apart from learning new skills on the job, supported employees take part in a structured training program in horticulture and related fields whilst being gainfully employed.
